My main specialty as a teacher has always been voice technique, regardless of the style or musical genre. I’ve always been curious about how the voice works, the physiology, and the mechanics of different voice productions. Additionally, I went on to learn how to control and master different sounds in order to increase the artistic possibilities of the instrument without jeopardizing our vocal health. Nevertheless, while I was a singing student, I collected many more questions than answers, as well as contradictions.
Finally in 2008, I met EVT – Estill Voice Training, which gave me most of the answers that I needed and offered me a practical and effective tool to fix and solve several problems very quickly. I learned how to establish a good balance between artistic freedom and vocal health, and how to achieve results in a short time, without aesthetic bias. I learned on solid scientific grounds through a constant attention to the monitoring the muscular effort. This is the real basis of voice production and one of the controversial aspects at the bottom of many voice problems. However, that can easily be turned into a powerful ally (if monitored), which makes us able to use the required muscular effort effectively whilst we relax extraneous tensions.
I strongly believe in a productive cooperation between doctors and vocal coaches. That’s why I am used to working with fruitful relationships among ENT doctors, laryngologists, speech pathologists, and sometimes including even physiotherapists & osteopaths. I ask them for advice when I need it, and they ask me for technical and practical support with performers. This helps them to establish a new healthy way to approach the performance and voice production in general.
Given the details I have outlined above, it’s easy to imagine what kind of support I give to you.
With me you can:
Sometimes I make mistakes like all human beings. Much more often, however, I succeed in my intent.
THE TRAINING MUST BE SUITABLE FOR YOU, AND NOT THE CONTRARY:
Are you a professional?
When I work as vocal coach with professional performers, they’re the artists and I’m the technician! I don’t give them artistic advice. If they ask, I tell them my opinion, and we work together to better define our final goal. The artistic choices are not up to me.
I give support for the safest and healthiest possible voice production, regardless of volume, pitch, or quality. I help performers to do what they can’t achieve on their own. This includes: increasing or decreasing volume, extending range, stabilizing voice, changing the color of voice, increasing vocal possibilities, decreasing stress & fatigue. Also, although I don’t like these words – we will be working on chest/head voice, or a mixture of them when requested by my client or student. These are the things students mostly request of me.
Are you a beginner?
If you want to learn to sing or you can already sing well and want to have more awareness of what you do, I can help you establish a solid technique and help you create your repertoire. I can teach you to warm up your voice or work on vocal issues with which you do not feel at ease.
The genres in which I am more experienced are: musical theater, CCM (mostly pop and rock), and spoken voice. However, I can also help you in solving problems within classical singing and opera. I can guide you through the first rudiments of jazz.
If we both consider it necessary we can also go into studies of the most musical aspects of performance, such as music theory, reading music, or harmony.
Are you a singing or an acting student?
If there is something that you are used to doing that does not convince you, or you think that the training you are receiving is not the most suitable for your voice, then we can explore other ways to approach what you do. We can then proceed together towards a higher level of awareness. I can help you solve technical problems on the repertoire or if you believe you are often singing everything in the same way and want to increase your expressive possibilities, then I can guide you towards a more complete knowledge of your voice and its potential. Depending on your needs, we could also proceed to focus only on the aspects that you consider important without the need to abandon your teacher. Rather, help him to work with greater understanding and focus on the educational aspects on which he feels at ease (knowing that nobody can know everything). I have many colleagues who know more than I do in other areas and it is always a pleasure to work with them on the same student from different points of view.llo stesso allievo da diversi punti di vista.
Your vocal health goes up and down. Do you suffer from some vocal pathology or have you suffered in the past?
We know how much the ups and downs in vocal health, surgeries, long cycles of therapy can affect the confidence of a performer and throw him into a state of confusion and fear. This can cause feelings of no longer knowing what is right and being continually afraid of making mistakes. In collaboration with my trusted and esteemed group of medical friends and therapists, I can help you find the most physiological way to use your voice. I will ask you for a medical report and I will try to follow the directions of your doctor by implementing a technical-artistic point of view on the type of therapy that he has prescribed to you, but without replacing it.
Are you a voice or singing teacher?
We know that in whatever we do or teach we can not know everything. If you are one of those teachers always ready to improve, or you feel that because of your training, that you have always devoted more time and energy to the artistic aspects of voice rather than the technical ones, then I can guide you to a greater scientific knowledge of voice production. This will offer you a set of both theoretical and practical teaching tools that can help you improve your teaching.
I can also help you in the Estill EFP certification path (the first unavoidable step in the certification process, which states that you can master your voice). If you have already achieved the EFP, then I can guide you through the EMT certification level (the teaching license) in collaboration with your Estill mentor. If you don’t have a mentor, I can help you find the one that’s right for you..
Are you a speech pathologist?
If you do not feel comfortable working with singers and can not speak their language, I can help you understand how to apply all your medical and therapeutic knowledge to the singing voice. This is accomplished by targeted exercises or by guiding you to better know the mechanics and artistry of singing.
Are you a choir conductor, a musical director working with singers, or a piano accompanist??
If you want to expand your artistic knowledge to work more effectively with singers, I can help you by teaching you tricks and technical exercises to help you achieve the desired results in the shortest possible time. This will help you to communicate with the singers in a more efficient way.

WHEREVER YOU WANT, WHEREVER YOU CAN, AND ALL YOU NEED:
If you believe that I can help you, then you can check the availability of my lessons in one of the venues where I teach throughout different countries. Or, you may decide to get a good idea by taking one of my workshops.
If instead we cannot meet in person, you can always book a lesson online or check the list of webinars and online courses.
Lessons can be provided in Italian or English without the need for an interpreter. Those who speak Korean can participate with the help of an expert interpreter from my team or from your choosing. Details can be arranged after an additional fee is paid directly to the interpreter. If you do not speak any of these three languages, you can always find an interpreter that you trust. With a little effort, I could find interpreters for French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese. Thanks to the platforms I use, the interpreter can connect from anywhere without having to meet you in person.
