WHAT ESTILL IS NEEDED FOR:
All Estill exercises, including work on vocal qualities, can be applied both to the singing voice and to the spoken voice.
EVT can teach actors and singers to improve the effectiveness of vocal production, better manage the effort of performance, optimize muscle work and the role of breathing, vary the tones based on the character or style, lighten or darken the voice, clean it or “dirty” it, increase or eliminate the nasalization to “characterize” a character, increase the projection, audibility and volume of the voice, control all the structures that contribute to the production of vowels and consonants in order to work on a more conscious diction and easily master the accents of different languages, of different dialects (and sociolects), and much more.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
This course runs over 5 consecutive weekends. Level 1 is running on 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 /04/2024 and Level 2 in running on 4, 5, 11, 12/05/2024.
Course materials and lectures will be in English. Basic assistance in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin), Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese and Korean is available upon request. Practice groups in languages other than English might be possible with enough registered students speaking the same language.
The course includes the presence of guest teachers who will present short lessons on complementary topics, included in the total 30 hours, not included in the Estill curriculum and which will not reduce the 24 hours of the guaranteed Estill program.
The Level 1 and 2 Course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice—singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, speech-language pathologists and other vocal health professionals. Level 1: Figures for Voice Control™ teaches the Craft of speaking and singing and employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles. Level 2: Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ combines Figure options from Level 1 to produce six voice qualities–Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belting. This course offers a clear understanding of the voice’s limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy. With a versatile career encompassing teaching, performing and choral directing, Alizia Romero fuses her passion for music with an innovative educational approach and a distinguished international presence in the field of Estill Voice Training. With a degree in Music Education and a Master’s in Voice Therapy and Music Pedagogy, Alizia began her teaching career in 1999 as a music, piano, choir and voice teacher.
With an innovative approach, Alizia has delivered over 10,000 hours of teaching, both face-to-face and online, to students in over ten countries. Her background includes leading roles at Studios Roma (voice-over) and Cardenal Herrera University, and she has been a guest lecturer in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.
As a singer and actress, Alizia has distinguished herself in many facets, from classical choral groups to children’s musical theater companies. Founder of “Las Chicas del Gospel”, her versatility extends to choral direction, with the creation of “Escuela de Gospel” and the direction of Zaragoza Gospel Experience. In addition, she runs her own artistic company, producing shows in a variety of formats.
With a command of languages including English and Spanish as mother tongues, as well as Italian and French, Alizia stands out as a passionate and versatile educator who fuses musical pedagogy with a distinguished international presence in the field of Estill Voice Training, being the first Spaniard to achieve Estill Mentor & Course Instructor certification.
ELISABETTA ROSA EMT (ESTILL MASTER TRAINER), VOCAL COACH, SLP;

SLP since 2005. Previously, professional singer (CCM, jazz, gospel) for almost 10 years. Voice teacher mostly for CCM singers for more than 22 years in some renowned music schools in Milan.
Vocal coach for XFactor Italy (2021); in 2019 vocal coach of Damiano David of Maneskin during their first live tour.
Eisabetta met EVT in 2000 and attended Jo’s last Italian live seminar in Modica (Sicily) in 2001. Under the mentorship of Elisa Turlà she became an EMT in 2008.
She is an adjunct professor at the University of Bologna and at the Conservatory of Milan, teaching for the subject “EVT application in managing Voice disorders”.
SUSY IZZO (SPEECH THERAPIST, ART-THERAPIST, CRANIOSACRAL THERAPIST);
GUEST LECTURER: THE IMPACT OF VOICE DISORDERS AND MYOFUNCTIONAL DISORDERS IN VOICE TRAINING. INTERACTION BETWEEN SPEECH-THERAPIST AND VOICE TEACHER.

Assunta (Susy) Izzo, Speech Therapist, Art Therapist and CranioSacral Therapist, has been involved for years in the rehabilitation of language and communication with people with complex disabilities and sensory disorders, in the training of educational and healthcare personnel, and in the dissemination of issues related to disability and inclusion, in recent years she has become passionate about the study and re-education of the Voice as a means of expressing the identity and personality of the human being. Author of the chapter “Sognano le mani e seno” of the book “Tutti i bambini riri alike” and of a chapter of the text “Adenoidism” (Garoli and Di Chiara 2017), in the relationship with patient actors, radio speakers, teachers and professionals of the voice, Susy Izzo experiments with a bodily approach, based on the movement and flexibility of the structures involved in vocal production and connected to it, with the aim of exploring the expressive potential of the vocal instrument and preventing overload and pathologies. From the need for global patient care, she develops an integrated clinical approach based on cooperation with osteopaths, dentists, orthodontist, gantologists, phoniatricians and singing teachers as well as other specialists from the multidisciplinary team who can intervene, based on the patient’s specific needs, to the care of oral respiratory patients with temporomandibular dysfunctions, orofacial muscle imbalance, atypical swallowing and vocal pathologies.
DR. ENRICO DI LORENZO , LARYNGOLOGIST/PHONATRICIAN;
GUEST LECTURER: SUPRAGLOTTIC STRUCTURES, FROM VOCAL EFFORT TO CONSCIOUS USE

Phoniatrist / audiologist specialized in artistic phoniatrics, singer and teacher of extreme singing and supraglottic vocality.
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Audiology and Phoniatrics at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome, he specialized at the Pacific Voice & Speech Foundation in San Francisco, USA in the study of supraglottic phonatory physiology via High Speed Camera.
Speaker and teacher in various national, European and US courses and conferences on phoniatry and artistic speech therapy. Author and co-author of international publications on general and artistic phoniatry, in particular on supraglottic voices and extreme vocality.
Singer with twenty years of experience, he has been the voice of the group HIDEOUS DIVINITY since 2010 with which he has several international publications with Unique Leader (USA) and Century Media / Sony (EU) and numerous tours in EUROPE, USA, CANADA, GREAT BRITAIN and RUSSIA together with CANNIBAL CORPSE, CATTLE DECAPITATION, ABORTED, ORIGIN and other big names on the international scene.
ONELIA SOLDINI – EMT (ESTIL MASTER TRAINER)
PRACTICE GROUP LEADER

Onelia Soldini trained artistically as a singer at Siena Jazz (under the guidance of Fabrizia Barresi), simultaneously studying Opera and Musical Theater with Nemi Bertagni, Stephen Woodbury and Faye Nepon.
She combines her concert activity (Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Poland) with her teaching activity, collaborating with various music schools (public and private) teaching both children and adults.
In 2011 she earned the EMT (Estill Master Trainer) certification from Estill Voice, under the direct guidance of M. Elisa Turlà.
From 2012 to 2015 she studied with Anne Marie Speed.
Since 2015 she has actively collaborated with Kaeylea B. VanKeith and Tracy Ryan for the project “Sisters!” (original musical).
Since 2018 she has collaborated with the Music Generation Foundation (Dublin).
She later dedicated herself to vocal teaching (technique and repertoire) of musical theatre. Since 2017 she has taught singing at the ICMT (International College of Musical Theatre), becoming Head of Musical Theater (ICMT Rome) and Head of Singing (ICMT).
BELINDA MICHAIL – EMT (ESTILL MASTER TRAINER)
PRACTICE GROUP LEADER

Belinda Mikhaïl won the Associated Board and the Queen Mother Scholarships to study piano and singing as a joint first study at the Royal College of Music where she won the Hopkinson Gold Medal for her final recital. Since graduating she has travelled extensively performing both as a soloist and as a chamber musician and has appeared as a concerto soloist at the major London Concert Halls.
She has made numerous recordings for Sony BMG and Universal and is a vocal soloist on EMI’s Vocalise album as used in trailers for ER, Lost and Grey’s Anatomy. She appears as the featured soloist on many film soundtracks and her solo piano playing of the theme from Chariots of Fire was heard at every medal ceremony at the London Olympic Games.
Belinda is also in demand as a vocal coach for classical, pop and rock singers and runs an extensive private teaching practice. She has trained performers as diverse as Siouxsie Sioux, Jennifer Ellison, Jack Garrett, Cathy Tyson, the Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche, as well as the world-renowned dancer Akram Khan. Her students are enjoying major roles in theatre companies up and down the country as well as hit TV series’ such as Downton Abbey, Broadchurch and The Crown.
Belinda’s work as an adjudicator has seen her travel extensively. Most recently she was invited to Trinidad and Tobago where she adjudicated their month long biennial Music Festival.

IMPORTANT:
The names of the guest lecturers and practice group leaders will be announced in the coming weeks and might continuously change (read below).
In the event of sudden unavailability, teachers may be replaced with teachers of equal qualification for the type of work required (EMCI for presentations, EMT for practice), either occasionally/temporarily or until the end of the course.
Extra curriculum lectures must be considered as a complimentary, non charged, additional activity and can be canceled without prior notice and without any refund.
To receive the certificate from EVI – Estill Voice International, 100% attendance of the official Estill lessons is required (sessions from 9am to 1.30pm). Attendance at extracurricular sessions, although recommended, is not necessary to obtain a certificate of attendance.
Any absences can be made up. Every week, at a time to be agreed, a make-up lesson will be held in a group for those who are absent (free attendance also by those who were not absent). In the event that the student who is absent at the main session is also absent at the make-up session, the lesson can be made up with a paid private lesson.
The dates, teachers and times may be subject to change due to force majeure. In case the course is cancelled by the host, the course fee is refunded. Training Resources Fee paid to EVI _ Estill Voice International, is non refundable, but it can be transferred to another course.
