WHAT ESTILL IS NEEDED FOR:
All Estill exercises, including work on vocal qualities, can be applied both to the singing voice and to the spoken voice.
EVT can teach actors and singers to improve the effectiveness of vocal production, better manage the effort of performance, optimize muscle work and the role of breathing, vary the tones based on the character or style, lighten or darken the voice, clean it or “dirty” it, increase or eliminate the nasalization to “characterize” a character, increase the projection, audibility and volume of the voice, control all the structures that contribute to the production of vowels and consonants in order to work on a more conscious diction and easily master the accents of different languages, of different dialects (and sociolects), and much more.
The workshop will focus on the most common misconceptions about voice and problems encountered in voice performance. Also covered will be popular solutions often suggested, but often fail. While using EVT and its specific guiding principles & exercises, alternative solutions will be searched and presented, offering an effective way to manage voice production based on science.
