SEOUL (SOUTH KOREA); 2019, April 13.
What’s the role of the breath in voice production? What is the purpose of breathing exercises? Why should we prefer one kind of breath training to others? How can the breath cooperate with voice production, and when it actually disturbs it? Why do we run out of breath? How can we use the breath effectively for volume and range? What is support in voice? What do we support when we support?
Unfortunately, much of breathing training is based on old misconceptions created centuries ago when the scientific knowledge about voice was very limited. Although gifted teachers have had brilliant intuitions over the centuries and designed some very effective breathing & singing exercises, it’s certainly time for an update based on a much more detailed knowledge of physiology. We need more effective training for a more exact explanation of what to do correctly, but we often explain it wrong.
Through scientific references, but also through a consistent and continuous practice – by overview of exercises and personal experiences, this workshop will try to answer all these questions. Also, we will establish a good training that is quite effective for voice support that can enable students and teachers to save time while reaching their goals more effectively.
At the end of the day, some volunteers will have the opportunity to work on their acting or singing in a masterclass/open session in which students and teachers will use EVT to solve common voice problems encountered
