CERTIFICATION PATHWAY FOR THE EFP EXAMINATION 2026, 22/1-27/5

IN PERSON COURSE FOR THE EFP EXAMINATION (ONLINE ATTENDANCE POSSIBLE)

Do you want to explore all the possibilities of your voice from a mechanical point of view and master very different sounds?

Then this course can do for you.

SUITABLE FOR: singers, actors, singing teachers, acting/spoken voice teachers, and speech therapists. Additionally, anyone who is NOT yet in possession of an Estill certification and wants to start the certification process either to stop at the EFP or to continue with the EMT can participate.

LEVEL: both beginner and advanced. Anyone NOT yet in possession of an Estill certification.

WHAT ESTILL IS NEEDED FOR:

All Estill exercises, including work on vocal qualities, can be applied both to the singing voice and to the spoken voice.

EVT can teach actors and singers to improve the effectiveness of vocal production, better manage the effort of performance, optimize muscle work and the role of breathing, extending the vocal range, vary the tones based on the character or style, lighten or darken the voice, clean it or “dirty” it, increase or eliminate the nasalization to “characterize” a character, increase the projection, audibility and volume of the voice, control all the structures that contribute to the production of vowels and consonants in order to work on a more conscious diction and easily master the accents of different languages, of different dialects (and sociolects), and much more.

COURSE DELIVERY:  IN PERSON and ONLINE.

The course is delivered face to face but online attendance is possible for overseas participants or for those who prefer online participation. However, online attendance is always possible for every student in case of their sudden inconvenience.
The course might be run occasionally online in case of sickness, typhoons, teacher temporarily abroad etc.

FACULTY: Francesco Mecorio (EMCI), June Leung (EMT). Some sessions might be lead by teachers other than Francesco Mecorio or June Leung, to allow the students to experience different teaching approaches.

VENUE: “Sparkmen” (Lai Chi Kok) – Room 2303, Orient International Tower. 1018 Tai Nan West Street (Lai Chi Kok). This super avant-garde and well equipped large venue is a 5 minute walk from Lai Chi Kok (Cheung Sha Wan) MTR station (Tsuen Wan Line) and from Cheung Sha Wan Bus Terminus (stop of several buses), and it has a private parking lot available at an additional fee.

CLOSED NUMBER. VERY LIMITED PLACES. Prior attendance of level 1& 2 is required for this course. Exceptions are possible in case of some experience in Estill to discuss about with the Mentor or in case of prior completion (before 21/01/2026) of “Foundations of EVT” course (CONTACT me)

WHAT THE COURSE INCLUDES: 36 hours of lessons in small groups; video recording of lessons available for watching throughout the course. Lessons can be attended online in case of temporary or permanent unavailability to reach the venue. Assistance with booking procedures and exam procedures. Up to 3 checks a week via chat, email, 1 on 1 online meetings, or live recordings (short messages or meetings not exceeding 10 minutes).

OPTIONAL ADD-ON: Individual Exam Preparation Support: HKD 1,000 (1:1 two hour lesson or remote assessment of the EFP protocol before the exam)

CERTIFICATION: Subject to passing the exam.

LANGUAGE: English (with continuous assistance in Cantonese)

DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE:

During the 18 meetings that last 2 hours each, the EVT Figures for Control of Voice and the Estill Voice Qualities will be explored, focusing in particular on the tasks to be performed to pass the EFP certification exam.

The EFP exam is reserved only for those who have attended at least one official Estill Level 1 and 2 course. Each lesson of this course is in fact accompanied by a brief theoretical explanation of anatomy, physiology, introduction to the exercise, and application of the topics to the performance and to speech therapy. However, the work will focus on practical tools useful for passing the practical EFP certification exam, which can only take place after attending the level 1 and 2 (in-person) course. WHAT IS THIS COURSE: A course aimed at preparing the EFP exam based on EVT training. The mastery of the voice and the muscular control regardless of the aesthetic needs are the basis of the preparation.

WHAT THIS COURSE IS NOT: A course in singing, acting, or diction. If you are interested in a course of this type, then consult other courses or subscribe to the newsletter because certainly courses will be activated if they are not yet available.

SCHEDULE: Every Wednesday , 11:00-13:00 (HONG KONG time: GMT + 8/HKT)

(dates may be changed in case of holidays, typhoon/weather alerts or unexpected unavailability of the teachers on the established dates)

REQUIREMENTS:

– Internet connection higher than 5.5 Mb /s in download for those who want to attend online,

– Attendance of 70% of the lessons,

– Estill Voiceprint software, available for purchase on the Estill website, is highly recommended  especially in case of online attendance.
